Bristol Siddeley Engines Limited developed a reliable and powerful ramjet motor that could be integrated into the
Sea Dart SAM of the Royal Navy. The BS.1003 Odin incorporated many improvements in ramjet burners that had been developed by Bristol Siddeley since they started ramjet development in the late 1940s. Odin also serves as the basis for the QuinetiQ hypersonic research vehicle.The Odin gave the Sea Dart long range and high speed, along with compact dimens
