Brakemine experimental SAM

Brakemine was one of the earliest guided missile projects conducted in the UK. Brakemine was a result of a project started by General Pile, C-in-C Anti-Aircraft Command and Cossors. The test programme dates from the late war years, but was wound down at the war's end. Brakemine was a rocket powered monoplane missile utilising the twist and steer control method, as later selected for Red Duster .

A single example of Brakemine survives in the REME Museum.
