Blue Danube was the first nuclear weapon developed in the UK. Intended for carriage by the V-force, its size governed the size of the V-bombers' bomb bays. Blue Danube was a fission device intended for airdrop. The yield was 20Kt.
Blue Danube was fitted with flip-out tail fins that deployed as the weapon was dropped. These stabilised the bomb as it left the bomb bay of the bomber.
